Tim has been employed with REI for 8 years as a Spill Supervisor. Tim studied Marine Safety and Environmental Protection at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Tim has been in the environmental industry since 1998. Tim has responded to large marine oil spills along the east coast and the gulf shores in multiple capacities such as supervising beach cleaning crews and defensive booming marine operations. Since January 2013, Tim has functioned as Project Manager on certain spill incidents. His responsibilities include reporting incidents, interaction with regulatory and safety officials, preparing estimated budgets, and Incident Completion Reports, AutoCAD operator, and desk reviews of incidents completed by others. Tim’s daily functions include sampling of soil, air, and groundwater; site supervision; designing and implementing Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) systems and Groundwater Pump and Treatment systems, and O&M of these systems. Tim maintains a Massachusetts Grade 2M Wastewater Treatment Operator’s License, OPA-90 Qualified Individual ( 29CFR 1910.120 (q)), OSHA 24hr On-Scene Commander, OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER, OSHA 10 Hour Construction Health and Safety Certificate, and a United States Coast Guard 50 Gross Ton Master for Inland Waters.
